[February 19, 2015]  Feb 18 (The Sports Xchange) - The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman Nick Schultz to a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday.

The deal is worth $4.5 million over two years, according to Sportsnet.

Schultz, 32, has played in 55 games this season, recording two goals and 11 assists. The 13 points are his most since 2010-11, when he had 17. A longtime member of the Minnesota Wild, Schultz signed with the Flyers on July 2, 2014.

The Winnipeg Jets placed forward Mathieu Perreault on injured reserve with a significant lower-body injury.

Coach Paul Maurice said Wednesday that Perreault, the team's fifth-leading scorer, isn't likely to return before the end of the regular season.

The St. Louis Blues recalled defenseman Petteri Lindbohm from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Lindbohm, 21, has played in 41 games for the Wolves this season, recording 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) and 56 penalty minutes.

The Nashville Predators reassigned forward Viktor Stalberg to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Stalberg, 28, has four assists in 11 games for the Predators this season, and 126 points (60 goals, 66 assists) in 324 career NHL games with Nashville, Chicago and Toronto.

The Minnesota Wild recalled forward Michael Keranen from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Keranen, 25, has 32 points (nine goals, 23 assists) and 16 penalty minutes in 52 games with Iowa this season.

The Washington Capitals reassigned defenseman Steven Oleksy to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Oleksy, 28, registered 19 points (three goals, 16 assists) and 86 penalty minutes in 62 career games with the Capitals.

The Dallas Stars placed forward Travis Moen on injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 17 and recalled forward Brendan Ranford from Texas of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old Ranford has 13 goals and 23 assists for Texas in 50 games this season. He signed with the Stars as a free agent last July. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
