SPRINGFIELD
- State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloominton) joined House and Senate
colleagues today to listen in as Governor Bruce Rauner delivered his
first budget address. According to Brady, two weeks ago the Governor
laid out a bold agenda, and today he provided the road map.

“Today Governor Rauner took the first step in what could be a
long budget process. He laid out a budget that decreases spending
from last year while still increasing funding for education,
preserving funding for vital services, and protecting our most
vulnerable citizens. It also provides for hiring more Department of
Corrections officers - improving public safety, and paves the way
for property tax relief,” said Brady. “Without a doubt, tough
decisions still lay ahead this spring and we will have to roll up
our sleeves to make the right decisions for the people of Illinois.”
