[February 20, 2015]  Feb 19 (The Sports Xchange) - Kevin Garnett is reuniting with his first coach and returning to where his career began.

The Timberwolves obtained the power forward from the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday for forward Thaddeus Young after Garnett waived his no-trade clause.

The Phoenix Suns executed a complete makeover of their backcourt, sending guards Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat and Isaiah Thomas to the Boston Celtics while acquiring guard Brandon Knight from the Milwaukee Bucks.

Dragic had expressed a mistrust of the Phoenix front office on Wednesday and agent Bill Duffy had said Dragic did not intend to re-sign with the team in the offseason. In return, the Suns obtained forward Danny Granger along with first-round picks in 2017 and 2019.

In a three-team trade involving two disgruntled players, the Oklahoma City Thunder obtained center Enes Kanter from the Utah Jazz and traded reserve point guard Reggie Jackson to the Detroit Pistons.

Kanter had been frustrated with his playing time and role in recent weeks, saying he hoped to be traded. The Thunder acquired him after considering a deal that would have sent Jackson to the Nets for center Brook Lopez.

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired Michael Carter-Williams from the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a three-team deal that sent Brandon Knight to the Phoenix Suns.

Carter-Williams was the NBA Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 16.7 points. This season, he is averaging 15 points, 7.4 assists and 6.2 rebounds but also 4.2 turnovers and shooting 38 percent from the field.

The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Arron Afflalo and Alonzo Gee from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Thomas Robinson, Will Barton, Victor Claver and a protected 2016 first-round pick.

Afflalo will be a free agent this summer, but the move indicates that Portland thinks it can compete for a championship. The 29-year-old is averaging 14.5 points per game and shooting 33.7 percent from behind the arc.

The Houston Rockets made two trades to help their depth, acquiring rookie forward K.J. McDaniels from the Philadelphia 76ers and veteran guard Pablo Prigioni from the New York Knicks.

McDaniels averaged 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 52 games, including 15 starts. The Rockets acquired him for guard Isaiah Canaan and a second-round draft pick.

Guard Norris Cole has two championship rings with the Miami Heat and on Thursday was traded twice, ultimately winding up with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cole was initially traded by Miami to Phoenix as part of the Goran Dragic deal. Later Thursday, ESPN.com reported he was dealt to New Orleans for guard John Salmons.

The Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings swapped veteran guards, with Ramon Sessions going to Washington for Andre Miller.

Miller will be reunited with coach George Karl, whom he played for in Denver after averaging 3.6 points and 2.8 assists in 12.4 minutes per game with Washington. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
