Ducks 4, Red Wings 3 (Shootout)

Right wingers Corey Perry and Jakob Silfverberg scored in the shootout for Anaheim, besting the lone goal from Detroit's Gustav Nyquist as the Ducks won their third straight.

Anaheim's streak comes after having lost five of six games, and their latest triumph came after they trailed 2-0 before scoring three third-period goals, all on rebounds.

Detroit center Pavel Datsyuk scored the first two goals of the game, with center Riley Sheahan adding a late equalizer for the Red Wings (33-14-11).

Andrew Cogliano and Emerson Etem tallied in the third period for Anaheim, as did defenseman Francois Beauchemin.

[to top of second column]

Detroit's Jimmy Howard stopped 22 of 25 shots he faced while Anaheim's John Gibson made 35 of 38 saves.

Anaheim (38-16-7) was challenged to sustain possession through the night, let alone pressure. They were outshot 22-10 through 40 minutes as Detroit controlled the puck effectively at even strength.
