[February 25, 2015]  LINCOLN - When the Logan County Board met for its Regular Committee of the Whole voting session on Tuesday night, once again there were numerous guests present. A number of people attended in reference to a rezoning request at Oak Hill Estates in rural Mount Pulaski.

The subdivision located in southern Logan County is bounded by 1600th Avenue and 200th Street. The Ellis family, who requested the rezone, owns ten acres of land over several plots within the subdivision adjacent to their residence. The owners request was to rezone the land from CH (Country Homes) to Agriculture.

Prior to the county board vote, the request was recommended for approval by the Regional Planning Commission in December. However, the Zoning Board of Appeals recommended to deny the application.

Several questions were posed at last week's County Board meeting [See Country Homes Subdivision property owners request land return to Agriculture zoning ]

When the matter was brought forward, there was no additional discussion from the board members or any of the guests in attendance, and the board voted.

The request was denied with a vote of six-to-four, with Pat O’Neill, Chuck Ruben, Andy Anderson, and Robert Farmer voting yes; and Gene Rohlfs, David Blankenship, Emily Davenport, Kevin Bateman, Rick Aylesworth and Scott Schaffenacher voting no.
