Wolverines split pair at CEL

[February 27, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines fifth and sixth grade teams wrapped up their regular season Thursday night. The ended the year splitting a pair with the Chester-East Lincoln Panthers.

In the 5th grade game, the Wolverines (4-4) spotted the Panthers a 13-0 halftime lead before staging their comeback, but fell by a final of 23-13.

Daulton Miller led WLB with six points while Scotty Battin added three. Also scoring for the Wolverines was, Sam Gleason (2), Ethyn Bivin (1), and Kayden Aragon (1)

In the sixth grade contest, the Wolverines (3-4) won 33-21.

Patrick McCraith led all scorers with 13, and Lucas Konczyk netted 11. Also scoring for WLB in the win was, Battin (4), Brayden Saylor (2), Aragon (1), and Miller (1).

West Lincoln Broadwell will host its annual sixth grade boys basketball round robin tournament next week, with games Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

This year's field includes; West Lincoln-Broadwell, Chester-East Lincoln, Carroll Catholic, Lincoln Junior High, Greenview, and Delavan.

Monday's action will see WLB take on CEL at 4:00 p.m., Greenview vs. CCS at 5:15 p.m. and LJHS vs. Delavan at 6:30.

Tuesday LJHS will play CEL at 4:00 p.m., Delavan vs. CCS at 5:15 p.m. and Greenview vs. WLB at 6:30 p.m..

Games Saturday begin at 9:00 a.m. and the last game tips at 7:00 p.m.
