[February 27, 2015]  Feb 26 (The Sports Xchange) - Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is scheduled to have surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus in his right knee on Friday.

A timetable for Rose's return will be determined after the procedure.

It will be the third knee surgery since 2012 for Rose, the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft.

The Bulls announced Tuesday night that Rose had torn the medial meniscus for the second time in 15 months.

He is averaging 18.4 points and 5.0 assists in 46 games this season.

Paul George returned to practice with the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, his first with the team since he was sidelined by a compound leg fracture in a Team USA scrimmage in August.

"It felt good. It felt really good," he said.

The All-Star forward said he would like to be back by mid-March.

Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury, the team announced Thursday.

Collison was injured during a game on Feb. 5 and has not played since.

According to the Kings, Collison will then be re-evaluated in three to six weeks, which means he might not return this season.

The Miami Heat signed forward Michael Beasley to a 10-day contract.

Beasley, who averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 55 games for the Heat last season, signed a one-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association in October and averaged 27.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.92 steals in 37 games while shooting 51.3 percent.

He was the No. 2 overall draft pick by the Heat in 2008. (Editing by Andrew Both)
