January Tea Time at the Atlanta Public Library

[January 06, 2015]  Celebrate National Tea Month at the Atlanta Public Library with afternoon tea every Wednesday at 4 p.m. Join us by the fire to sample fine teas and learn about tea traditions around the world. Each week a special guest will be on hand to discuss the history and practice of tea ceremonies in other cultures.

Don’t like tea? No problem. There will be plenty of coffee, cider and other drinks to enjoy. In addition, we will sample traditional foods to accompany our tea selections.

On January 7, John Durdle will host a discussion of German/Austrian traditions; Alexis Asher will show us tea practices in England on January 14; Mary Buckles will talk about herbs that are often used to brew “tea” in the United States on January 21; and Alex Sentowski will explain the Japanese tea ceremony on January 28.

The program is free, so come on out and spend those cold January afternoons in cozy conversation while enjoying a “cuppa” with your friends.
