Back on the court, Wolverines split two

[January 07, 2015]  LINCOLN - After a nice holiday break, the West Lincoln-BroadwellWolverines took to the court Tuesday night in Springfield as they faced off with the Wildcats of Springfield Christian.

In game one, the 7th grade team (14-1) won by a final score of 56-38.

Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 25 points while Dreyden Pozsgai added 11 and a team high nine rebounds. Also scoring for WLB was Justin Long (8), Kameron Whiteman (6), Payton Anderson (4), and Lucas Konczyk (2)

In the nightcap, the 8th grade Wolverines (7-8) fell 42-30. Whiteman scored 10 to pace West Lincoln. Froebe (7), Pozgai (4), Blaine Robbins (4), Shane Shumard (3), and Dawson Ferguson (2) also scored for WLB in the loss.

The 7th grade team next moves on to Saturday's opening round of the Logan County Conference tournament held at Lincoln College. WLB will open as the #2 seed and play at 11:15.

The 8th grade is preparing for their last home game as Wolverines, when they take on the Crusaders from Carroll Catholic, on Monday, January 12th.

At that game, West Lincoln Broadwell will host their Jr. Wolverine program. Players in 2nd through 5th grades and their coaches will have free admission. There will also be player and coach introductions between the 7th and 8th grade games.
