WLB plays spoiler to close out regular season

[January 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln-Broadwell Wolverines traveled to Springfield tonight to face the Aces of St. Agnes, on their 8th grade night. West Lincoln (15-2) wasted no time getting down to business with a 45-25 victory in the 7th-grade opener.

Kaden Froebe led the attack with 17 points while dishing out eight assists in the win. Also, scoring for WLB was Kameron Whiteman (10), Dreyden Pozsgai (8), Payton Anderson (6), and Justin Long with two.

Once the eighth grade ceremony was finished, the Wolverines (8-8) went back to work and emerged with a 44-23 victory. Froebe paced West Lincoln with 22 points while Shane Shumard scored 12 and grabbed ten rebounds. Anderson (4), Blaine Robbins (3), and Whiteman (3) each scored for WLB in the win.

The seventh grade Wolverines next move back to the Logan County Conference Tournament with a 3rd place game versus the Carroll Crusaders Thursday night at 6:00 pm, before heading into 7-1A Regional action play at Middletown.

The eighth grade Wolverines will enter the 8th grade LCC tourney on Saturday as the #3 seed with an 11:15 a.m. contest vs. #2 seeded Stags from Hartsburg-Emden.
