[January 17, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI —  The Mount Pulaski Toppers hosted the Midwest Central Raiders on Cancer Awareness Night Friday night at the Ed Butkovich Gymnasium. Both teams wore t-shirts during warm-ups that read "Together We Fight" Cancer Awareness Night 2015.

Once the T-shirts came off and the ball was tipped, the Toppers were the ones who fought together the hardest and cruised to the 56-32 victory.

Twins Beau and Blake Collier dominated the first quarter by scoring eleven points and guiding the Toppers to a 15-5 lead.

Mount Pulaski stretched that lead to 31-14 at the half as Blake Collier and Dalton Litterly each scored four points to lead the Toppers.

A sluggish third quarter accounted for only thirteen points scored between the two teams as Mount Pulaski still held a commanding 37-21 lead.

Beau Collier and Michael Lowery, who have been the Toppers leading scorers during the current win streak of seven games, each scored seven points in the fourth quarter as the Toppers coasted to the 56-32 victory.

Beau Collier finished the night with a season high 18 points and Lowery added 14 points. Blake Collier and Dalton Litterly each finished with seven points. The Toppers improve to 10-7 on the season.

The Toppers travel to Sangamon Valley Tuesday night.

At the end of the evening, according the cheerleading sponsor, Kelly Aylesworth, the proceeds from the pork chop sandwiches, the 50/50 and the half court shots accounted for $275. The total from the T-shirt sales was not readily available. All in all the evening was a success and the Toppers appreciate the support.
