[January 28, 2015]  LINCOLN - Jerry E. Moore Sr., of Lincoln died at 6:17 p.m. January 25, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Visitation:  One hour prior to the services on Thursday

Service: Thursday, January 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Obituary

Jerry E. Moore Sr., of Lincoln died at 6:17 p.m. January 25, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Jerry was born August 5, 1937 in Ste. Genevieve, MO the son of Harold H. “Earl” and Georgia E. Henderson Moore. He married Donna Aughton and they were later divorced. He married Mary A. Baldin Sponsky July 5, 1973 in Mount Vernon. Mary survives in Lincoln.


Jerry is survived by two sons: Jerry E. Moore Jr.; Eric M. (Coleen) Moore, both of Lincoln; two grandchildren: Caitlin Moore and Alexander Moore; two sisters: Jane (George) Winkel of Lincoln; Judy (Steve) Grohol of Vero Beach, FL; and James Moore of Valkaria, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Jerry retired from PPG as a glass welder after 33 years. He served in the Army Reserves and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed helping farmers, camping, working around the house and gardening.

Services for Jerry will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Ron Otto officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be one hour (10:00-11:00 a.m.) prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Logan County or to the donor’s choice.
