Five LCHS seniors sign college commitment letters

[January 30, 2015]  LINCOLN - On Wednesday afternoon, five Lincoln Community High School seniors signed their college commitment letters in front of a large audience in the high school auditorium.

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

Lincoln College is the right choice for me because I will be able to finish my general education close to my family and continue my softball career with my best friends.

Years on the LCHS Softball team: 4

Awards: All-CS8 as a junior, Academic All-CS8 as a sophomore and junior

Other Activities: Volleyball, Student Government, LEAF Club, National Honor Society, FBLA, and Math Club

Makenzie Cooper

Parents: Eric and Jody Cooper

Sports: Softball and Volleyball

College: Lincoln College
Anticipated Major: Radiology

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

I have the opportunity to play both softball and volleyball at Lincoln College. It was too good of an offer to pass up.

Volleyball: All-CS8 as a sophomore and senior, All-CS8 Special Mention as a junior, Academic All-CS8 as a sophomore, junior and senior, Most Kills & Aces as a senior, Area All-Star Game as a senior, Edward Jones Athlete of the Month as a senior.

College: Illinois Central College

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

ICC is close to home. They have an improving golf team Coach Ryan can help me get to the next level.

Awards: Team MVP four years, All-CS8 as a sophomore, junior, and senior, CS8 Tournament Runner-up as a sophomore, IHSA State Finals as a sophomore, junior, and senior, finished in the IHSA top 25 twice and the top 50 once, 14 Top-10 finishes at high school tournaments.

Other Activities: Basketball, heling with Special Olympics

Brighton Robbins

Why do you feel this college is the right choice for you?

Lincoln College is close to home and it offers me a chance to continue my career in athletics paying the two sports I love.
