[July 01, 2015]  LINCOLN - At a special board meeting on Monday, June 29, 2015, Chester-East Lincoln District 61 hired Mr. Robert Bagby as acting Superintendent for the 2015-2016 school year.

Mr. Bagby will be mentoring Mrs. Laura Irwin who was recently hired as Assistant Superintendent/Principal and will take over the top spot the following year. Mrs. Irwin has one more year to serve as principal to meet Illinois State Board of Education superintendent qualifications.

Mr. Bagby began his career as a superintendent at CEL in 2002. He has been at Lincoln Community High School the last seven years and will continue to serve in that capacity. Mrs. Irwin completed her superintendent internship at Lincoln Community High School under the direction of Mr. Bagby. CEL is very fortunate to have two administrators who are very familiar with the district. The CEL Board of Education wishes to thank the Lincoln Community High School Board of Education for allowing Mr. Bagby to serve the CEL community.
