[July 14, 2015]  LINCOLN - Gretchen Jones along with some of the children from Little Lambs Learning Center, presented a check to Corrin Paul, Regional Development Representative with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Little Lambs Learning Center recently held its 11th annual St. Jude Trike-A-Thon. In the four days prior to the Trike-A-Thon, the children learned about proper trike and riding-toy safety habits. On the day of the trike-a-thon the children brought their favorite tricycle or riding toy from home. The track included everything they needed for a morning trike-a-thon - a trike repair shop, a gas station, a snack shop, and their favorite - a trike wash! Even the infants and toddlers participated by taking a stroller ride around the track.

The children were surprised with a special visitor; Officer Christy Frugé from the Lincoln Police Department. She discussed safety guidelines with the children before the trike-a-thon and then joined in on the fun. Family members joined in the event as well.

Over the last 11 years Little Lambs Learning Center has raised over $13,000 for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the world’s premier pediatric cancer research center.

St. Jude has the world’s best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since they opened more than 50 years ago.

St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. The research hospital freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Join the St. Jude mission by visiting stjude.org.
