[July 23, 2015]  LINCOLN - On Wednesday, Logan County Tourism Director Maggie McMurtrey sent out a notice that WCIA Channel 3 will be in town this Friday for a live broadcast. The local network annually does a summertime series called "Our Town" and were recently in Mount Pulaski.

WCIA notified McMurtrey on Tuesday of the decision to come to Lincoln as part of an "Our Town" segment featuring Route 66 in Central Illinois.

McMurtrey said that while this was short notice she was hopeful that the city could be well represented on Friday evening. She is inviting everyone to come out to the downtown area. Pulaski Street on the south side of the Logan County Courthouse will be blocked off for the event.

She also noted that WCIA would welcome interviews. In her email she stated, "They said that anyone who wanted to talk about their organization or experiences are more than welcome to come out."

McMurtrey also said that anyone who did wish to appear in the live broadcast should contact her office as soon as possible. She will put together a list for WCIA.

You can contact McMurtrey at the Logan County Tourism office by calling 217-735-2385.
