June Street Superintendent report

[July 27, 2015]  LINCOLN - Street Superintendent report for the month of June, 2015,  submitted to the Lincoln City Council on July 20, 2015 by Walt Landers

Accomplishments

New Union contract with IUOE.

Completed a list for 2015 sidewalk replacement project.

Installed new Street lighting along Pulaski and Kickapoo streets.

We have continued to clean and weed around downtown streets and parking lots.

Conducted mosquito spraying operations the weeks of June 81h, 22"d, 29th and July 13th.

Have completed ditch maintenance and cleaning along 5rh St. and Memorial Park Rd.

Crews have completed work on Connlley Rd. to repair base failure on the west side of the road. We also had to replace a 60' long 18" culvert. This section of road will be resurfaced later this summer.

Repaired 2 sinkholes in the roadway in 200 block of 4th St. and 1 at the intersection of N. Ottawa and Davenport St. Still need put asphalt
 

Placed Route 66 bike racks at the Depot, Busby - Turner Park and Postville Courthouse.

Mowing and other ground maintenance.

Replaced the welcome to Lincoln Sign N. Lincoln Parkway

Crews have put many hours in cleaning basins and picking up brush. All of the heavy rains make it a challenge to keep up with these operations.

We have received our walk behind scarifier. This machine will be used to address tripping hazards on sidewalks and to remove old street striping.

Completed sidewalk repairs in the 100 Block of N. Kickapoo.

Removed 7 trees Trimmed 47 and ground 7 stumps.

Reported seven streetlights to Ameren for repair.

Repaired boulevard streetlights lights on Wyatt Ave and Park Place.

Completed the 4th Qtr. IDOT Traffic Signal Reimbursement Report.

Crews assisted with setup and tear down for the Pigs & Swigs Event Downtown.

Lincoln Street Department has gone 562 Days without a lost work day accident.
