Matt Glavin Named Director of Government Affairs for Illinois American Water

[July 30, 2015]  BELLEVILLE - Matt Glavin has been named director of government affairs for Illinois American Water, effective July 20, 2015. In this role, Glavin will represent Illinois American Water at all levels of state government.

Glavin brings more than 15 years of experience in the political and legislative process, most recently serving as deputy director for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Past roles also include serving as chief of staff for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and deputy press secretary for United States Senator Richard Durbin. Glavin has also served as senior account executive for Jascula Terman & Associates and campaign manager for several campaigns.

Glavin has a juris doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Illinois Wesleyan University. He serves as a board of director for the Equality Illinois Political Action Committee, vice-chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Local Government Committee and previously served on the board of directors for the Illinois Economic Development Association.

Glavin will be headquartered at Illinois American Water’s Chicago Metro District office in Woodridge. He will spend considerable time at the State Capital in Springfield and travel throughout Illinois, working with elected officials across the Company’s service area.
