[June 03, 2015]  McLEAN - Ansel J. Stubblefield, 85, of McLean, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 12:25 a.m.

Visitation: Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, at the funeral home

Funeral home: Quiram Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta

Obituary

Ansel J. Stubblefield, 85, of McLean, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 12:25 a.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta with Rev. Mike Barclay officiating.

Burial will follow at McLean Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by McLean American Legion Post #573.

Visitation for Mr. Stubblefield will be Thursday, June 4, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta.

Ansel was born on November 17, 1929, in rural McLean, the son of Ansel F. and Pearl Nafziger Stubblefield. He graduated from McLean High School in 1947 and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, Ansel returned home to farm the Stubblefield Centennial Farm. He retired from farming in 1997.

Ansel was a 50-year member of the NRA, McLean American Legion Post #573, Atlanta Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory, Mohammed Shrine, McLean County Farm Bureau, and McLean United Methodist Church.

Funeral Director

Survivors include one daughter: Deborah (Marty) Junis of Sun City, Ariz.; and two sons: Donald Stubblefield of McLean and Robert (Leigh) Stubblefield of Lincoln; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister: Rosemary Schertz of Elliot, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stubblefield was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to McLean American Legion Post #573.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
