[June 10, 2015]  LINCOLN - At 5:00 p.m., on Saturday evening, Jack Means announced the results of the competitions after thanking the various sponsors and volunteers of the event.

Kid's Q

In the Kid's Q contest age seven - 11 category, Two Best Friends and a Grill team received first place.

In the age 12-15 category, the Red, White, and Blue BBQ team received first place.

All contestants were recognized with a certificate for participation and given a grill.

Backyard BBQ

For the chicken category, Big Foot BBQ was the first place winner, followed by Double D's Rock Shack in second place, JTA BBQ in third place, Doc' Rib Shack in fourth place, and 1224 BBQ in fifth place.

In the ribs category, Get Sauced BBQ was the first place winner, followed by Blue Bear's BBQ in second place, 9-11 Q in third place, Packing a Charge BBQ in fourth place, and JTA BBQ in fifth place.
 


Anything Goes

In the Anything Goes competition, Sauce and Smoked BBQ was the first place winner followed by Double Nickel in second place, Royal Oak Three Smoking Stooges in third place, and Nuthatch Hill BBQ in fourth place.

KCBS

In the KCBS competition, participants in first through tenth place received awards.

Chicken

For the chicken category, Monsters of the Ribway were the first place winners, followed by St. Louis Black Iron BBQ in second place, Jug's BBQ in third place, Rib Tip Tuesday in fourth place, Pork Paradise in fifth place, Cluck, Oink, and Moo in sixth place, Two Smoking Drunks in seventh place, Trucky's True Blue BBQ in eighth place, Smoking Fry Pit in ninth place, and Chilly Water Smokers in tenth place.

Ribs

For the ribs category, Rural Route BBQ received first place, followed by Chilly Water Smokers in second place, KC Beer in third place, It's Five O'Clock Somewhere in fourth place, Smoky Links BBQ in fifth place, Nuthatch Hill BBQ in sixth place, Pork Paradise in seventh place, Sexy Q in eighth place, Bonehead BBQ team in ninth place, and Monster Q in tenth place.

Pork

For the Pork category, IBQN received first place, followed by Smoke Bros BBQ in second place, Chilly Water Smokers in third place, St. Louis Black Iron BBQ in fourth place, 3 Smoking Stooges in fifth place, All in Q in sixth place, Monster Q in seventh place, Two Smoking Drunks in eighth place, Trucky's True Blue BBQ in ninth place, and One 2 BBQ in tenth place.

Brisket

Finally, in the brisket category One 2 BBQ received first place, followed by St. Louis Black Iron BBQ in second place, Trucky's True Blue BBQ in third place, DanDy BBQ in fourth place, Monster Q in fifth place, All in Q in sixth place, Jugs BBQ in seventh place, Monsters of the Ribway in eighth place, Pork Paradise in ninth place, and It's Five O'Clock Somewhere in tenth place.

Backyard BBQ Grand Champion

Last but not least, the winner of the Backyard BBQ grand champion prize was Get Sauced BBQ.

KCBS Grand Champion

For the KCBS competition, St. Louis Black Iron BBQ received the Grand Champion prize with the Chilly Water Smokers awarded Reserve Champion.

Though only a few received prizes, all participants enjoyed the camaraderie and competition between teams, which enhances the quality of the overall product.

You might not think it possible, but BBQ is getting better. Just ask a competitor.
