[June 12, 2015]  LINCOLN - Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society will participate in the Rt. 66 Garage Sales by offering several valuable and one-of-a-kind items from its inventory, and a variety of interesting items donated for sale by society members and local supporters. This one’s for you, if you want something different at a good price.

Collectors may be interested in the black and white photographs of beach scenes at Lincoln Lakes; a Monopoly-like City of Lincoln Centennial board game; Lincoln College, Hartsburg and New Holland High School yearbooks; Lincoln High School and Lincoln Community High School yearbooks, and copies of a senior class publication, The Panorama, including a 1914 edition.

Whether or not someone purchased Volume I of the LCGHS publication, This Is My Story, with biographies of Logan County veterans, they will want a copy of Volume II, a partner to the original book, but a separate collection all its own. Both editions are full of information on Logan County soldiers, sailors and airmen who served their country as far back as the Civil War.

One-of-a-kind items include a collector-quality Native American doll, wooden side-arm school desk, and a Jim Shore hand-carved hot air balloon. Other sale items: antique and novelty toys; assorted books and Lincoln city directories; unique paintings, maps and sketches, most in solid wooden frames; odds and ends too numerous to mention.

The LCGHS Rt. 66 Garage Sale, 114 S. Chicago, Lincoln, will be Friday, June 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations for the garage sale will be accepted until Noon on Wednesday.
