February Airport and Farm Meeting

[June 16, 2015]  LINCOLN - Blue Room, Logan County Safety Complex February 2, 2015

Present: Gene Rohlfs; Rick Aylesworth; David Blankenship; Bob Farmer; Chuck Ruben; David Helper; Scott Schaffenacker
Absent:

Mr. Rohlfs called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Farmer, seconded by Mr. Aylesworth, to approve the minutes from the January 5, 2015 as printed. Motion passed.

Old Business:

Tree Project (AAA-4215) Update:
Mr. Rohlfs showed the committee the ad that was run in the Courier and State Journal Register. Mr. Rohlfs has not received any phone calls for the tree project. No action was taken.

Fuel Farm Project (AAA-4317) Update:
Mr. Rohlfs showed the committee the ad that was run in the Courier and State Journal Register. Mr. Rohlfs has received 3 phone calls regarding the Fuel Farm Project. No action was taken.

Pavement Marking and Maintenance (AAA-4438) Update:
Mr. Rohlfs handed out the one page engineer report to the committee. Mr. Rohlfs pointed out the schedule for the Pavement Marking and Maintenance project. Mr. Rohlfs is hoping to be 80% submittal by March 28, 100% by April 17 and letting date by June 12, 2015.

RW 3 PAPI Repair Update:
Mr. Rohlfs reported runway 3 PAPI is working just fine at this time. Mr. Rohlfs thanked Mr. Blankenship for fixing the RW 3 PAPI.

New Business:

C&L Holzwarth, INC:
No action was taken at this time. Mr. Holzwarth will attend next month’s meeting.

Hangar Repair and Lease:

Mr. Rohlfs reported Mr. Holzwarth needs to repair his bifold door on his hangar. Mr. Holzwarth would like to make the repairs himself but would like the committee to extend his lease at the airport. Mr. Rohlfs believes the doors will cost around $60,000. Mr. Holzwarth would like to meet with Mr. Rohlfs and one other member for lunch next Tuesday to give them more information regarding the doors. Mr. Blankenship and Mr. Rohlfs will meet with Mr. Holzwarth.

Hangar and Office Land Lease:

Mr. Ruben asked Mr. Rohlfs what Mr. Holzwarth’s current lease with the county is. Mr. Holzwarth has 12 years left of his current lease. Mr. Rohlfs plans to have the proposal for Mr. Holzwarth at the next meeting.

Fuel Flow Payments/Accounting:

Mr. Rohlfs reported he never sees an accounting for Mr. Holzwarth’s fuel flow. The county is supposed to get 2 censt a gallon. Mr. Rohlfs would like to talk to Mr. Holzwarth about his fuel flow account.

Farm and Airport Excavating Projects:

Mr. Rohlfs handed out copies of the excavating project from Goodman Excavating. Mr. Rohlfs explained the project to the committee. Mr. Fox reported he knew a gentleman who would do the project for the wood. Mr. Rohlfs asked the committee for their input on the project. Mr. Ruben feels the committee should move forward with the project. A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Ruben, to accept the proposal from Harold Goodman INC to do the tree work. Motion passed.

Farm Lease Review:

Mr. Rohlfs handed out copies to the committee to show them how the county charges for the farm lease. Mr. Rohlfs asked the committee for their input regarding the farm lease rates. Mr. Ruben would like to send this to the state’s attorney to ask his opinion. No action was taken at this time.

Hangar Door Repairs: Nothing to report.

Airport Report:

Mr. Rohlfs reported 207 gallons of fuel were sold in January. Mr. Evans would like Mr. Holzwarth to save his old doors because they could be used for projects down the road. Nothing further to report.

HIF Report: Nothing to report.

Farm Report: Nothing to report.

Budget Review: No concerns.

A motion was made by Mr. Aylesworth, seconded by Mr. Hepler, to approve the bills as presented for payment. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Hepler, seconded by Mr. Aylesworth, to adjourn. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:34 pm.
