[June 16, 2015]  LINCOLN - The purple ribbons circle Lincoln College and the Logan County Courthouse Square reminding all the Relay for Life of Logan County is near. A thermometer has been raised on the Lincoln College lot across from their campus on Woodlawn to show the funds that have been raised toward the $64,600 goal.

Beginning at noon on Saturday, June 20th opening ceremony for “Ready Set Go for the Cure” Relay for Life of Logan County will be held at the Lincoln Center at Lincoln College. The Master of Ceremonies will be Cameron Kurtz, a familiar voice to many having been a part for many years with the Balloon Festival and Logan County Fair Queen contest. At 6:00 p.m., following the 4:30 p.m. buffet for survivors, honorary chairs will be introduced: Carolyn Motley, the 2015 chair for obtaining teams has been a survivor for over 30 years; and Kathleen Brumbaugh, a 7-8 year survivor. They and their caregivers/supporters will lead the survivor lap.

A Special fundraiser will also help meet this year’s goal of $64,600.

On Wednesday, June 17, Culver’s will give 10% of all sales that day from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to Relay for Life of Logan County.

The event T-Shirts for team members were distributed on June 2 and will be available by contacting Carolyn Motley 732-8032. A new team, “Dana’s Team” has joined the Relay teams with Cyra Buttell as captain.
