Normal – Heartland Community College Foundation raised $10,000 for student scholarships at the inaugural Lincoln Scholarship Scramble golf outing May 15 at Lincoln Elks Country Club in Lincoln, IL. Twelve teams participated.

Foundation Board Director Elizabeth Wrage called the event a success. “The outing was a great day of fun, comradery and purpose,” she said. “I appreciated meeting people who had a genuine interest in Heartland Community College and the opportunity it creates for Lincoln and Logan County students.”

In celebration of the event’s success, the HCC Foundation established a full-tuition scholarship for Logan County students. The Logan County Rising Scholars Scholarship covers tuition and fees for up to 36 credit hours during the academic year. Logan County students interested in the scholarship should visit www.hccfoundation.org. Applications for the 2015-16 school year are due July 1. Those interested can contact the Foundation at (309) 268-8110 with any questions.

“We appreciate the amazing support the Lincoln and Logan County area have shown,” said Chris Downing, executive director of development. “We will strive to create access for students across the area and help them reach their career and educational goals.”

The Heartland Community College Foundation wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all the local businesses that helped make this effort possible with their sponsorship.
