[June 29, 2015]  LINCOLN - Melvin L . "Jim" Haseley, 86, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 9:28 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation: Thursday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln

Service: Thursday at Noon at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Melvin L . "Jim" Haseley, 86, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 9:28 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services for Jim will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln
with Pastor Mark Peters officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be in the New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

Melvin L. "Jim" Haseley was born on November 23, 1928 in Lincoln the son of Albert and Ida Leppin Haseley. He was united in marriage to Geneva Caroline Liesman on April 9, 1950 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln. She preceded in him in death on May 21, 2015.

Surviving are his children: Vickie Jo Ann (Kirby) Bruce of Lincoln, Roger Reynold (Susan) Haseley of Findlay, Ohio, and Melissa Sue (Kevin) Riggs of Lincoln; six grandchildren: Jeremy (Cindy) Bruce, Kelsey (Matt) McQuality, Ross (Janelle) Haseley, Abbey Haseley, Tyler Riggs, and Kayla Riggs; five great-grandchildren: Adelin, Chloe, Landon, Keegan, and Charlotte; his sister: Lillian Heins of Lincoln
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Arthur, Wilbert and Vernon, one infant sister.

Funeral Director

Jim graduated from the Lincoln High School in 1947.

He farmed and worked in construction later retiring from the Lincoln Community High School as Head of the Maintenance Department in 1994.

Jim was a charter member, trustee and elder at Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln. He was also a member of Lincoln Elks Lodge # 914.
His hobby’s included woodworking, watching the birds and squirrels. He really enjoyed spending time with his family.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation.
