[March 02, 2015]  LINCOLN - Vernon Reichle, 90, of Lincoln, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at St. Clara’s Manor, Lincoln.

Visitation: Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Rosary: at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Service: Thursday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Lincoln

Obituary

Vernon C. Reichle, 90, of Lincoln passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Clara’s Manor, Lincoln.

Vernon was a Highway Engineer for Illinois Department of Transportation for 38 years.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during W.W.II; He was a member of Holy Family Church of Lincoln; Attended the University of Illinois for three years; and was a member of the American Legion Post #263.

Vernon was born August 26, 1924, in Lincoln, the son of Walter and Katherine Hinck Reichle. He married Agnes Willard June 25, 1949 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Elkhart.
She preceded him in death August 19, 2010.

 

Vernon is survived by four sons: Joe (Polly) Reichle of Lincoln; Jim (Mary Beth) Reichle of Centennial, CO; Jack (Tanya Conrady) Reichle of Lincoln; Jerry Reichle of Lincoln; three daughters: Lou Ann (Dr. David) Mack of Springfield; Mary (Luther) Leesman of Hartsburg; Kate (Dave) Becker of Denver, CO; Eleven grandchildren: Rebecca, Alex, Kevin (Amanda), David (Molly), Tyler, and Steph (Jill Ambroson) Reichle; Beth (Jason) Stephens, John (Sarah) Leesman, Mark(Kailey) Leesman, Andrew and Jack Becker; and eleven great grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers: Walter William, and Dean; and a granddaughter: Megan Becker.

Services will be Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Lincoln with Rev. John Pham officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln, with full military rites by the Lincoln American Legion Post #263. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. The Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. prior to the visitation on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Carroll Catholic School in Vernon’s honor.
