[March 03, 2015]  March 2 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Monday's National Hockey League games.

Rangers 4, Predators 1

Goaltender Cam Talbot stopped 25 shots as the New York Rangers emerged with a 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators at Madison Square Garden.

Rick Nash, Marc Staal, Chris Kreider and Dominic Moore scored for the Rangers (39-17-6) , who are 9-1-1 in their past 11 games and have moved into first place in the Metropolitan with 84 points.

Matt Cullen scored for the Predators (41-16-7), who have lost three straight for the first time this season but still hold the league's best record.

Blackhawks 5, Hurricanes 2

Captain Jonathan Toews scored a pair of goals to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 5-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Carolina (24-31-7) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

Sharks 4, Canadiens 0

Newcomer Ben Smith scored a goal and added an assist to help the Sharks beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-0, San Jose's first win at SAP Center in nine attempts.

Backup goalie Alex Stalock posted his second shutout of the season and fourth of his career with 20 saves.

The win helped the Sharks (31-25-8) pull even with the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings with 70 points in the Pacific Division while the Canadiens dropped to 41-17-5.
