Volleyball: Honeybears 7th grade season ends

[March 10, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI -  The 7th grade Mount Pulaski Honeybears lost to Christ the King 25-11and 25-23 to end their volleyball season just shy of a state tournament berth.

After the loss, Coach Donna Dulle called Christ the King "a very solid and very scrappy team that knows how to put the ball in the holes." The Honeybears were led by Chloe Przykopanski and Paige Stewart, each with five kills. Claire Coogan had four kills and Leah Beckers had two kills. Isabella Wade contributed 16 assists while Taylor Trimmer and Makayla Stewart each had two aces.

The Honeybears finished the season 13-9.

Christ the King advances to the IESA Class 7-2A state tournament this Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Decatur LSA.

Meanwhile the 8th grade Honeybears begin regional action tonight in Pawnee. Mount Pulaski will take on Tri-City in the 6:00 p.m. match.
