Help the Lincoln Presidential Library put down roots
Presidential library and museum offers chance to help celebrate 10th anniversary by adopting planters

[March 14, 2015]  SPRINGFIELD – The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum has put down deep roots over the past decade, and now it’s asking for help putting down more as part of its 10th anniversary celebration.

The presidential library is offering individuals or groups the chance to adopt planters scattered around the ALPLM campus and fill them with colorful, creative plant designs. Each planter will include a weatherproof sign featuring the name of its sponsor and the 10th anniversary logo.

There’s no charge for adopting a planter (and getting the recognition that comes with it). The sponsors simply have to provide the plants and a little labor to get them in the ground.

Participants are encouraged to develop a planting scheme using patriotic colors to enhance the grounds during the anniversary celebration. Weather permitting, the planting should be finished by May 15.

The Christian County Master Gardeners organization is one of the groups already signed up and working on designs.
