[March 19, 2015]  March 17 (The Sports Xchange) - All-Star guard Klay Thompson will be lost to the Golden State Warriors for seven to 10 days with a sprained ankle and miss a matchup on Wednesday night between the two teams that have NBA's best records.

Thompson was injured Monday night when he landed on the foot of Los Angeles Lakers guard Tarik Black during the Warriors' 108-105 victory. Thompson returned to the game after having the ankle re-taped and had a game-high 26 points.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka is not expected to return for four to six weeks after he underwent an arthroscopic procedure on Tuesday to address knee issues.

Ibaka had experienced swelling and soreness since late February. An MRI showed no structural damage, but after an evaluation in New York, it was decided that surgery was necessary to clean out the knee.

Minnesota Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders will miss Wednesday night's game in Toronto against the Raptors for personal reasons, the team announced Tuesday.

According to a report, Saunders will be away from the team for an unspecified time to be with his ailing father in Cleveland. In Saunders' absence, assistant Sam Mitchell will serve as acting coach.

For the sixth time this season, the Memphis Grizzlies sent forward/center Jarnell Stokes to Iowa of the NBA Development League.

The 6-foot-9 rookie is averaging 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds and shooting 64.2 percent from the field in 16 games for the Energy.

Guard Nate Robinson signed a second 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to multiple reports.

The nine-year veteran had seen action in five games since signing his first 10-day contract March 7. He is averaging 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Detroit Pistons forward Greg Monroe missed Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with a right knee strain.

The Pistons scheduled an MRI exam that confirmed inflammation and plan to re-examine him Wednesday. Monroe, 24, is averaging 16 points, 10.4 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 64 games this season. (Editing by Frank Pingue)
