[March 24, 2015]  LINCOLN - There is a murder in the neighborhood and among the suspects are you, your husband, your best friend, and your neighbor. If this scenario sounds intriguing to you, you may be a murder mystery fan. If so, we have just the event for you.

On Saturday, March 28 at the Knights of Columbus Ladies’ Auxiliary will host a Mystery Dinner Theater at the Knights of Columbus Hall with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. and the show starting at 6:30. The buffet dinner will include New York Strip streak, marinated chicken breast, green beans, baked potato, salad, and dessert.

The play will be presented by a small actor’s troupe from Chicago. It is loosely based on Crime and Punishment and set in the gangster era. As with most mystery dinners, it will be interactive as the play will involve a murder mystery with audience participation as the diners help to solve the mystery. The cast will pick the participants from among the diners and one of them will be the “murderer.” Those chosen will receive a character description and clues about their own character and the murder which will slowly be revealed to the rest of the guests.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund parking lot repairs and also be put toward a scholarship fund.

The dinner theater is a new event for the Knights of Columbus. Auxiliary president Kari Adams exclaimed,” I am excited about it,” noting that several nearby wineries have hosted these events. She hopes it is an event that people will enjoy. If it is successful, it may become an annual event.

Only 175 tickets are being sold and advance purchase is preferred. Tickets will be available up until Friday and any remaining tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are $40. Call the Knights of Columbus 732-2548 for tickets and questions. If you want to help figure out “who-dun-it,” call and order tickets.
