 We received more reports
today that there are people who are receiving phone calls from
people who are pretending to be from Ameren/Cilco.
They are telling customers that
they need to send money right away to avoid having the customers
electricity turned off. Do not send anyone money unless you know who
they really are.
There is technology that
allows these fraudulent people to imitate phone numbers that show up
on caller ID's as actual business phone numbers. Just because your
caller ID says the call is from a business, do not share personal
information with anyone you are not sure about.
If you are not sure about
the caller, you can look up a valid number for that business and you
can call the business back. |
