Basketball trio represents Logan County at All-Star Game

[March 26, 2015]  Brode Hopkins, Gavin Block and Michael Lowery combined to score 30 points Wednesday night at "The Bird Cage" as members of the North All-Stars at the 2015 Heart of Illinois All-Star Basketball Classic. The North All-Stars defeated the South All-Stars 137-103.

Hopkins scored 14 points, Block finished with 9 points and Lowery chipped in 7 points in the winning effort. Their North teammate, Howard Fisher from Rochester, scored 21 points and was named the MVP of the game. Christian Williams of Decatur St. Teresa led all scorers with 27 points.

The event was sponsored by the Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club and featured 30 area players from around Central Illinois. This was the 28th year of the game, which began in Lincoln in 1988 under the sole sponsorship of the Lincoln Lions Club. In 2006 the game was moved to Warrensburg-Latham High School.
