[April 30, 2015]  LINCOLN - Members of Lincoln College’s Lambda Chi Mu music fraternity will hold a free concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at The Mill, located at 738 South Washington Street in Lincoln.

The Road Trip Jam Fest on Route 66 concert will feature the Lincoln College Vocal Combo and the Gypsy Jazz plus Cody G string trio. The Vocal Combo will perform covers of rock classics and modern pop music. Combo members are Tony Valvassori, Frank Glassman, Matt Sheridan, Lillian Shegog, Chase Doolin, and Danielle Rokosh. The string trio features Allen Mendez, Caleb Coppinger and Cody Garretson playing classical tunes for guitar and violin.

“The bands will be playing inside the Mill, and we will have space for dancing. Food is not provided, but people are welcome to bring their own picnic and lawn chairs and picnic outside or just sit and enjoy the music,” said Lambda Chi Mu Vice President Colby Mumper. “We started the year off with a concert at the Mill—the Runner Ups—in conjunction with the Route 66 Foundation Cruise In last September, and we wanted to close out the year with another concert. We really appreciate Andrea Dykman and the Route 66 Heritage Foundation for inviting us and letting us hold the concert at the Mill.”

Lambda Chi Mu started at Lincoln College in 2012, and has 27 active student members plus a dozen alumni members.
