Obituary

Mildred K. “Millie” Buss Smith, 92 of Lincoln passed away at 5:27 p.m. May 12, 2015 at St. Clara’s Manor, Lincoln.

Millie was born April 2, 1923 in Lincoln, the daughter of Jacob B. and Vera Ritchhart Buss. She married Carl Lolling. She then married Carl W. Smith June 21, 1981 at the American Legion Post #263, Lincoln. He preceded her in death October 30, 1997.

Millie is survived by one sister: Nelda Seefeldt of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Carl, brothers: Earnest, Marion and Walter Buss.

In the past years, Millie was a very active member in the American Legion Post #263 Auxiliary, having served as Past President; also as American Legion Auxiliary County Past President; and charter member of LaFemme Cabane #895 of Lincoln, also serving as past president. Millie retired from Lincoln Developmental Center as a Mental Health Tech II.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln with Rev. Mark Peters officiating.

Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church of Lincoln or Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion of Lincoln.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at St. Clara’s Manor.

Services were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
