Lincoln Heat 10U makes the most of 7 hits in 10-6 victory over Chatham

[May 22, 2015]  LINCOLN - Lincoln Heat 10U and Chatham both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was Lincoln Heat 10U that was able to capitalize on them as it pulled out a 10-6 win at South Park, in Chatham.

Chatham had 12 hits compared with Lincoln Heat 10U's seven, but Chatham stranded nine runners on base.

Wyatt O'Donoghue got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Jaden Leadley, Wyatt O’Donoghue and Michael Lucas helped lead Lincoln Heat 10U. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as Lincoln Heat 10U scored three runs and kept the lead throughout the game.

Lincoln Heat 10U added four more runs in the top of the third. A single by Jaden Leadley ignited the offense, scoring Landen Heinzel and Darren Stevens.

Lincoln Heat 10U piled on three more runs in the top of the fifth. The inning got off to a hot start when Michael Lucas scorched a bullet to left field, scoring Darren Stevens.

Five runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Chatham close its deficit to 10-6.

Lincoln Heat 10U closed the game out when Ryan O'Donoghue came in and got the save.

Lincoln Heat 10U is back on the road tomorrow night as it travels to Hopedale for a double header.
