“Memorial Day is a holiday of celebration spent with friends and
family. Oftentimes alcohol is part of the celebration. The Healthy
Communities Partnership offers Safe Rides to help keep the streets
safer for everyone. Our hope is that the community will remember the
service is available and that bartenders will suggest it when
necessary,” said Angela Stoltzenburg, Healthy Community Partnerships
Manager.
The program requires participants to ask the bartender for a Safe
Ride ticket to receive a free ride home. The bartenders will call
the cab company,
A Green Cab of Lincoln. Safe Rides are only provided from the
establishment to the rider’s home within the city limits of Lincoln.
Fare's are paid for by the Healthy Communities Partnership Alcohol,
Tobacco and Other Destructive behavior task force.
