Community Day at Creekside Environmental Center

[May 30, 2015]  LINCOLN - On Thursday, June 4, the Lincoln Rotary Club and Lincoln College will host a free Community Day at Creekside, the College’s Outdoor Center for Environmental Education, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event will include tours of the Creekside Center, including the Rotary Insectarium, greenhouse, pavilion learning center, pond and bioswale, prairie grass and wildflower area, the mammoth tusk discovery site, and a creek walk (water shoes recommended).

There will be a hot dog roast, and children can pick up a free copy of the Rotary Insectarium Coloring Book illustrated by Kim Wiggers de Otte.

Creekside is located approximately four miles north of Lincoln. Travel north of Lincoln Parkway on 1250th Ave (Nicholson Rd) and travel 3.1 miles (passing over I-55, past the Epperson subdivision, and over Kickapoo Creek). Turn left on 2000th St (the second left after Kickapoo Creek) and travel about half a mile. Turn right onto the gravel road marked Small-Edwards Trace that leads to Creekside.
