Eighth Grade Wolverines win Kickoff Week Tournament

[November 05, 2015]  LINCOLN - The West Lincoln-Broadwell eighth grade Wolverines (3-0) defeated the Cougars from Illini Central by a final of 63-25 Thursday night, to go undefeated in the Carroll Catholic season-opening tournament and take home the championship plaque.

Kaden Froebe led all scorers with 25 points. Kameron Whiteman added 20 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Also scoring for West Lincoln in the victory was, Joe Dalpoas (8), Justin Long (6), and Dreyden Pozgai and Payton Anderson with 2 each.

In the early game, the seventh grade Wolverines (1-2) picked up their first win of the year by outlasting the Cougars 22-18.

Lucas Konczyk (12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists) led the Wolverines while Patrick McCraith added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Brode Whiteman also got into the scoring column with 2 points while Daulton Miller added 5 steals and Scotty Battin added 4.

The Wolverines will hit the road next on Tuesday, November 10th, traveling to Bloomington to face Cornerstone Christian Academy with the 7th grade game scheduled to tip off at 6:00 p.m.
