NHL roundup: Stars top Wings for third straight win

[November 09, 2015]  DETROIT -- Patrick Sharp and Tyler Seguin had a goal and an assist each to lead the Dallas Stars to a 4-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Valeri Nichushkin and Cody Eakin also scored for Dallas, which won its third straight. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen made 21 saves.

Gustav Nyquist scored for Detroit, which had its three-game winning streak snapped. Jimmy Howard made 20 saves before leaving with 12:51 left in the third period after taking a knee to the head Jason Spezza during a goal-mouth scramble. Howard was replaced by Petr Mrazek, who made two saves.

Bruins 2, Islanders 1

NEW YORK -- Tuukka Rask made 36 saves as Boston defeated the New York Islanders at Barclays Center.
 


The win ended a three-game losing streak for the Bruins, who looked like the fresher team over the first two periods despite having played in Montreal on Saturday night while the Islanders had not played since Thursday.

Brad Marchand and Ryan Spooner scored for the Bruins.

Jaroslav Halak stopped 25 shots while Johnny Boychuk scored the Islanders lone goal.

Devils 4, Canucks 3 (OT)

NEWARK, N.J. -- Kyle Palmieri's power-play goal with 1:27 left in overtime lifted New Jersey to a win over Vancouver at the Prudential Center.

Adam Henrique, Mike Cammalleri and Sergey Kalinin scored for New Jersey in regulation while Chris Higgins, Sven Baertschi and Alex Edler scored for Vancouver.

Keith Kinkaid made 28 saves for the Devils, winners of two straight, while Ryan Miller stopped 24 for the Canucks, who lost their third in a row.

Blackhawks 4, Oilers 2

CHICAGO -- Artemi Panarin tallied two goals and an assist, and Chicago held on for a win over Edmonton.

Patrick Kane added a goal and two assists to extend his point streak to 10 games, which is the longest active streak in the NHL. Artem Anisimov also scored for Chicago.

Jordan Eberle and Andrej Sekera scored for Edmonton.

Corey Crawford stopped 34 of 36 shots for Chicago and Cam Talbot turned aside 24 of 28 shots for Edmonton.
