[November 13, 2015]  LINCOLN - St. John United Church of Christ Missions will host a fundraiser at Culver’s Restaurant in Lincoln on Sunday, November 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Culver’s will donate 10% of all sales during that time period to their fund to help the missions of their Sister church, St. John United Church of Christ in south Chicago.

During the past year many of the old churches in Chicago area have been tagged for the wrecking ball due to some potential safety issues. St. John UCC in chicago is now one of those whose ministry to the homeless and low income families and the AAA shelter have all been moved to the parsonage.

The food pantry, clothing needs, counseling and worship will continue until a new building can be made ready, which will include installing the many famous stained glass windows (now in storage), made in Germany for the original church built in 1882.

The current pastor in Chicago, the Rev. Charlotte Nold has been the ‘Signer” not only for those with hearing impairment in this church but also for many community and wider church functions for over 25 years along with being pastor there with all their mission outreach.
