Lincoln Fire responds to house fire Tuesday morning

[November 18, 2015]  LINCOLN - At 6:50 a.m. Tuesday morning the city of Lincoln Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire in the 1600 block of Pekin Street.

According to Assistant Chief Darren Coffey, when the department arrived at the residence at 1618 Pekin, they found flames escaping through the roof of the building. The department made entry into the home and extinguished the fire.

Coffee said at noon on Tuesday, the fire was still under investigation, and a press release from the department should be forthcoming.
