[November 20, 2015]  Nov 19 (The Sports Xchange) - Head coach Mike McCarthy said quarterback Aaron Rodgers is healthy and the Green Bay Packers have no concern over his status for Sunday's NFC North game with the Minnesota Vikings.

Still, Rodgers, who has not performed up to his usual standards of late, showed up on the team's injury report Thursday.

Rodgers was limited with a bruised throwing shoulder on Wednesday but looked good in Thursday's workout, McCarthy said.

The quarterback insisted after Sunday's disappointing outcome that he's not "worried about the confidence level of this football team."

Houston Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer is not expected to play Sunday and is reportedly experiencing memory loss related to a head injury that knocked him out of Monday's game at Cincinnati.

Hoyer was unable to recall plays during Monday's game and was replaced by backup T.J. Yates.

Hoyer "wasn't functioning correctly as to how we know he'd usually function calling a play, receiving a play and trying to communicate it to the offense," head coach Bill O'Brien said.

New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sunday's game against the Houston Texans just nine days after having surgery on his left thumb.

Fitzpatrick underwent the procedure to repair a torn ligament in his nonthrowing hand. He said he will wear a protective glove and be mindful of the stitches when he faces his former team.

He said he was feeling more pain than before the surgery due to the fact surgeons sliced his hand open to do the procedure.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, who has missed the past three games with a knee injury, returned to practice but appeared to be limited to some individual drills.

However, it's a good sign for the Bucs, who haven't had their veteran receiver since he injured his knee in a 31-30 loss to the Washington Redskins on Oct. 25.

"It's good to get the guys back there doing something," coach Lovie Smith said. "You want as many options as possible."

The Washington Redskins signed recently released running back Christine Michael to their practice squad and waived running back Mack Brown.

Michael was dumped by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this week after rushing for just 51 yards on 15 carries this season.
