Ruth Kapik takes a turn manning the refreshment
table at the Holiday Open House at Pink Shutter on
Saturday. Pink Shutter has been serving the Lincoln
area with quality, gently used products, mostly
clothing but housewares and more, for over 50 years.
The thrift store is a day-to-day fundraiser for the
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Many
know the good works of the Auxiliary at the hospital
on a day-to-day basis, but what some may not know is
that the Auxiliary works hard to raise money in
support of LifeLine. LifeLine is an emergency call
service, offered to many seniors and people who have
chronic health issues. The service allows these
people to maintain their independent lifestyle and
at the same time have the comfort of knowing that if
they have a problem, help is just a click away.
