[November 22, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - Nellie J. Deppe, 93, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on November 21, 2015 at Bickford Senior Living Center in Springfield.

Visitation:  from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Ashland City Cemetery Ashland

Obituary

Nellie J. Deppe, 93, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on November 21, 2015 at Bickford Senior Living Center in Springfield.

Nellie was born on July 31, 1922 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the daughter of Howard and Naomi Edgeworth Johnson. She was united in marriage to William “Bernard” Deppe on December 2, 1944 in Mississippi City, MS. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2013.

Surviving Nellie are her three children, Sylvia Buker of Mobile, AL. James K. (Carolyn) Deppe of Virginia, IL. and Clint (Diane) Deppe of Mount Pulaski; her nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and ten great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two grandsons, her son-in-law Danny, and six siblings.

Nellie enjoyed playing golf, traveling, shopping, playing softball, bowling, and rooting for her Cardinals. She loved to sell antiques and was a riveter on airplanes in Gulfport, MS during WWII.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Ashland City Cemetery Ashland. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Memorial donations may be made in Nellie’s name to the Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #477.
