Lincoln Taekwondo competes well at 2015 Midwest Open

[November 23, 2015]  LINCOLN - Members of the Lincoln Taekwondo participated in the 2015 Midwest Open Taekwondo Championship held November 21st at the Decatur Conference Center in Decatur.

Tournament Director Master Joshua Sharp conducted a very well organized tournament with participants from throughout the United States.

Seven of eight Lincoln competitors who participated in Olympic Style Sparring Competition earned five first-place titles, one third-place and one fourth-place award.

Seven of the eight Lincoln competitors participating in Forms Competition resulted in two first-place, three second-place and two fourth-place finishes in their respective divisions.

Men’s Black Belt competitor, Khoa Phan and his six year old daughter, Yellow Belt Sydney Phan were runners-up to the Forms Grand Champion Award in their respective rank and age groups.

Vegeta Tanner, 11 year old Red Belt; Third place Sparring and fourth place Forms

Aja Phan, 13 year old Blue Belt; First place Sparring and second place Forms

Son Phan, Senior Men’s Green Belt 46 years old; First place in Sparring and second place Forms

Sydney Phan, 6 year old Yellow Belt; First place Sparring and first place Forms

Alex Anderson, Men’s Yellow Belt Belt; First lace Sparring and second place Forms

Beau McGuire, 10 year old Yellow Belt; First place Sparring and fourth place Forms

Aydyn Snow, 6 year old Yellow Belt; Fourth place Sparring
