attend National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia

LOGAN
COUNTY - Top 4-H members across the nation will gather in Atlanta,
Ga. for the 94th National 4-H Congress scheduled for Nov. 27 through
Dec. 1. 4-H members earned the right to attend by excelling in their
project work.

Each member selected first completed and submitted their 4-H
records at the local county level and then moved on to competition
at the state level with over 100 applicants.
Members are evaluated on their work in project mastery,
leadership, community service and citizenship throughout their
entire 4-H career.
Illinois will be represented at National 4-H Congress by 20 state
4-H award winners that include Logan County 4-H member Katlyn Helton
of Middletown. Katlyn received a trip in the Achievement Award area.
“National 4-H Congress offers states an opportunity to provide these
outstanding 4-H youth with an expanded educational experience
through seminars, community service projects, and tours sponsored by
local and national 4-H program donors,” said Debra Stocker,
University of Illinois Extension 4-H youth development specialist.

All Congress delegates will participate in special cultural programs during the
International Dinner and a night of programming at the Atlanta History Center.
Other experiences during National 4-H Congress include delegate participation in
workshops focusing on health, communication and connection, social media, and
service learning. Delegates will also have the opportunity to tour locations
around Atlanta, such as CNN, Turner Field, Georgia Aquarium, The Jimmy Carter
Presidential Library, and the birthplace and home church of Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.
