[November 23, 2015]  LINCOLN - Due to the relocation of Mrs. Jan Schumacher to Missouri and her resignation from the Logan County Board, a vacancy for a representative from District 2 will exist.

The Board Chairman, Dave Hepler, is inviting and encouraging citizens interested in serving on the Board to contact the office at 732-6400 for particulars. Candidates must be members of the same Party (Republican) as Schumacher and reside in District 2. This area roughly includes West Lincoln towards Middletown and South towards Elkhart.

The County Clerk’s office can verify the District in which a candidate lives.

Applicants will be asked to provide the County Board Administrative Assistant with basic background and biographical information, a resume if available, and a brief statement as to why she or he wishes to serve in this capacity.

The Chairman will ultimately bring a recommendation to the full Board, which must be approved by majority vote to become Schumacher’s successor.

This process will likely occur in January, making initial application by mid-December advantageous for optimum consideration.
