[October 05, 2015]  MOUNT PULASKI - Richard R. “Dick” Hayes, 74, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 3:06 a.m. Monday October 5, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation: Thursday, October 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. also at the Mount Pulaski First United Methodist Church.

Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday October 9, at the church

Obituary

Richard R. “Dick” Hayes, 74, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 3:06 a.m. Monday October 5, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Dick was born on May 28, 1941 in Mount Pulaski, son of Richard L. and Hilda Smith Hayes. He married Shirley Mae Lowe on August 7, 1959 in Chestnut. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2013. He was the retired owner of Hayes Auto Supply in Mount Pulaski. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved watching his grandkids play sports.

Surviving him is one daughter Barbara (Lynn) Freer of Mount Pulaski, one son, Steven (Jessica) Hayes of Mount Pulaski, four grandchildren, Alec Hayes, Skylar Hayes, Hannah Freer and Michael Freer, all of Mount Pulaski, one brother, James (Colleen) Hayes of Sanford, NC, and one sister, Roberta Boyer of Beverly Hills, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday October 9, 2015 at the Mount Pulaski First United Methodist Church with Rev. Zoila Marty officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. also at the Mount Pulaski First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given to the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department or to the Mount Pulaski First United Methodist Church. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski has been entrusted with the arrangements.
