Ed
Schoenbaum, Administrative Hearing Officer for the
city of Lincoln, was set up in the city council
chambers on Monday to hear from defendants of
ordinance violations. The city is using a hearing
officer instead of going through the courts on
certain ordinance violations. By doing so, the city
saves money while at the same time reaping all the
benefit of fines imposed because it does not have to
give a portion of the fine to other entities.
Scheonbaum generally hears cases once a month for
the city of Lincoln.
